My name is Jason Michael - I’m a 21-year-old currently working as a Photojournalist and Video Editor at a news station who loves toku and stuff. I used to write reviews sometimes, make gifs every now and then, but now I'm focusing on bringing sweet video content to Henshin_Paradise..

I started this blog to just have fun with my toku fandom and post my thoughts on stuff as I watch these awesome series. Just trying to have some fun! There really isn’t a set ‘point’ to this blog, primarily just to geek out over one of my favorite fandoms!

Kamen Rider Drive’s first episode reeled me in by the mother-fuckin’ opening, man. Loving it so far. Especially Kiriko. Oooooo man! So excited to see more of this series - haven’t been this hyped for a Kamen Rider series since Fourze or something!!!

Dudes. I’m gonna be in ATL/Hotlanta/Atlanta, Georgia, this weekend for Anime Weekend Atlanta. If you don’t know, AWA is a cool-ass-fuck anime convention that happens every year. And I think this AWA will be my 7th, 8th, or 9th… I can’t remember. But! With conventions comes figs. Usually tons of figs. If you’re into that part of the toku fandom keep it locked here or on my Youtube channel. I’m definitely going to be posting some con-stuff and Figure Updates.

Kamen Rider Gaim - Episode 45

SOOOOOOOO we’re two episodes away from finale, right? Gaim is running 47 episodes? Okay, okay, okay - this episode did two things for me: 1) Show ed me Kaito’s ‘love’/want for Mai and 2) Showed me some Kouta-character-development [finally].

The first thing (Kaito’s want for Mai) honestly seemed to come out of fucking nowhere. Yes, I read the back story for Kaito, and yes it does add more context to his character (which I still enjoy, btw), but in the grand scheme of the show’s pacing it came out of left field so suddenly. In my opinion this ‘love’ or want could have been worked in a little better at the halfway mark of the series. That way by this point in the show’s run Kaito’s motivation would be more than just, “I WILL DESTROY WEAK PEOPLE BLAH BLAH BLAH”. I get it - focusing on Kouta, Micchy, AND Kaito would be A LOT of work and a lot of writing - but it would totally make this fight, the end scene of this episode, infinitely better. In my opinion, of course.

The other thing this episode gives me is some fucking Kouta-character-development. GOD DAMN FINALLY. And by character development I don’t mean him growing up or changing his mentality on his current situation, I mean him realizing and coming to terms with his physiology changing and that he must now become more than human to defeat Kaito/save the world/get Mai back. And the scene that highlights that moment is when Kouta is speaking with his sister, when Kouta munches on that sweet Helheim fruit. FUCK. That scene is so good! We get Kouta verbally coming to terms with his Overlord status and in turn when he finally faces Kaito, he’s able to flat-out-say-with-no-fuckin’-questions what he’s going to do. Which is nice.

The finale of Gaim is soon and I have high hopes for it. And Drive is soon. It’s really a great time to be a Kamen Rider fan!

I was going to read this post but you’re using TVN subs. Come on dude, if you’re going to watch a translated show, at least watch it with correct translations.

Which group do you prefer?

In regards to Gaim there’s only Aesir’, but for Toku in general anyone but TVN

I got some Aesir shit, but I really dig TVNihon’s visuals

The visuals are pretty, yeah, but the subs are incorrect half the time. Hell, the episode where Sagara gives Kouta the Kiwami lock, half the conversation was butchered. Or if you look at some of their other works, Blade and Hibiki are nearly unwatchable since between the typesetting, mistranslations, and common damn spelling errors you’re not getting anything near the original script. Seriously, go check out onoreTVN. They don’t update much anymore but it’s a whole blog dedicated to pointing out their mistakes.

Lol, yeah, I’ve heard all that stuff. I’m hoping that Over-Time picks up Drive or that new sub group actually stays around for all of the run.

With all these rad-ass-fuck Kamen Rider BLU-RAY releases coming out, I’m tempted to use my Amazon.jp account finally and pay the insane amount of money for each of the box sets. I think Ryuki Box Set 1 is currently at around $140 plus shipping.

I would love to have some of these series on BLU-RAY but FUCk is that price crazy. Has anyone copped them or seen them? Are they worth it?

Even though I already watched the series when it was airing, re-watching the last half and then just finishing the finale again really makes me miss this cast. I really enjoy the whole crew in Wizard.
